Location: -
Kada in Ashti Tehsil is situated between 180 53’ 46 “N Latitude. 750 04 ‘42’ E Longitude Height and is located at 598 meters above sea level with low rainfall. It is drought-affected area. The farmers are dependent on the rainwater and use of chemical fertilizers for combating the biotic and abiotic stress.
Need:
More than 65% of the people from nation are engaged with agriculture, yet agricultural contribution in GDP is comparatively less. The application of scientific and technological innovations has brought a plenty of changes in agricultural progress of India. It becomes highly necessary for a farmer to know the soil elements of his farm before farming. The fertility and productivity depend upon inherent soil elements. If the farmer knows the proportion of important soil elements as Nitrogen, Potassium, phosphorous present in soil, the conductance and PH of soil, it is easy to know which crop and how much fertilizer land requires. This knowledge leads a farmer to large productivity of the crop. To sustain the farmers to satisfy the financial needs, ‘Nurturing the Mother Earth’ is a project to help to raise economic status.
Procedure
The institute with the selected students collects the soil sample from the surrounding villages under the team of professors. The collected samples are handed over to Taluka Agricultural Officer. The collected soil samples are analyzed in soil testing laboratory and soil health cards are prepared. The collected samples are labelled as per contents like Nitrogen, potassium, Phosphorous, and the PH and conductance of soil.
After testing, the soil health card provides a qualitative assessment of soil health. The card carries crop wise recommendation of fertilizers required for land. The card contains an advisory based on soil nutrient. It shows recommendations on dosage of different nutrients needed. The farmers are guided with free of cost for per sample.
Counselling to farmers:
The farmers are given guidelines about use of fertilizers. Different government officers also contribute their thoughts on various government schemes for farmers and crops. The institute also distributes vermikit and Trichoderma sachets to farmers for better farming. Different agricultural consultancies also provide guidelines to farmers to such programs. The institute organized Dalimb Pik Parishad (crop conferences) for different crops at various villages with the help of Govt. authorities.
Problems encountered and Resource Required::
The farmers had less interest due to financial crisis Farmers are following traditional crop pattern. Different governmental policies require documents causes problems for the benefit of farmers. The farmers are always engaged in field work

Title of the Practice: Ethical Value Education
“Science without humanity,
Commerce without morality and
Knowledge without character is a curse.”
M.K. Gandhi.

The context:
Today, the world is making progress but on the other hand the man is losing values in life. Everyday life is full of moral problems. Ideal in public life is about to disappear. The man finds himself in the dilemma of ethical and practical life. The values are nothing but acceptable conduct in society. A person with ethical values has high morals and act morally in all situations. Codes of ethics help to strike a balance between the needs and greed life. It is a promise to act in a manner of public well-being.
In case, where these ethical codes are repeatedly and grossly violated, there is need of protective rules. So, perceptions of ethical values are a basic contextual issue. Deterioration of the values is the most severe loss to the society. So the institute has adapted ethical value education as best practice.
The academic calendar of the institutes includes the international, national and state level activities, commumorative days. It focuses on life of great national leaders and struggle. The literary associations and science department organizes various departmental activities. The institute deliberately organizes guest lectures of various saints with the purpose of inculcating principles such as non-violence, love and Compassion, peace, truth, righteousness, sacrifice and service etc. The resource persons are also invited as social workers, preachers etc. Every session ends with a noble prayer.
