The department of Geography was started since establishment of the college in 1998. The Under Graduate department of Geography Introduced from 1998 and Post Graduate from 2017. Being a part of Arts faculty the department trains students for the Bachelor and Master Degree in the Geography. Today, it has a devoted academic community, committed to high standards of teaching. Both, theory and practical courses are being conducted at special levels. The courses belong to either physical or human Geography. As a part of the practical course, the department organizes study tours at different places of Geographical interest. The department’s commitment to basic and applied teaching encourages students to go for higher education as well as research activities. Besides, Geography is one of the major subjects in various competitive examinations and hence, students find it useful in the study of those examinations.
The department has a well-equipped Geography laboratory. Tracing tables, raised maps, surveying instruments, Survey of India Topo-sheets, wall maps, weather maps, charts, models, weather instruments, computer with internet facility and essential furniture is available in the laboratory. “The Deccan Geographer”, “Bhugolsanshodhak” and “Vidyawarta” ISSN Journal are available in the central library. The department offers a degree course (B.A. M.A. in Geography) at undergraduate and Post Graduate level.

The student can choose Geography as a special subject in the Third year of this course. Along with the conventional methods of teaching, multimedia projector, Geographical models, internet, maps, Charts are used for making the teaching more effective. Study tours/ Spot observation, are organized to provide the realistic knowledge to the students. Open discussions and feedback from the students provide further scope for upgradation. In addition to class room learning, library, internet, computers are the other means of learning in the department. The continuous evaluation process as Test, Tutorial, Seminars, Practical journals, Tour reports and semester examinations is very helpful to know the subject knowledge of students.

Academic Syllabus Offered for B.A. & M.A. Geography as per the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University Aurangabad. Semester pattern is (Credit System) effective from June 2012-2013. As per the semester pattern two theory paper for first and tow theory paper for second semester and one annual practical for B.A. first year. B.A. second year, two theory paper for third and tow theory paper for forth semester and one annual practical. Revised Syllabus of B.A. third year, effective from 2015-2016. In fifth semester Subsidiary two theory paper, Main three Theory paper. In Sixth semester Subsidiary two theory paper and one Annual Practical, and Main two theory paper, two Annual Practical and one annual Project Work.

Formation of geography association every year is a routine activity of our Department. We elect three students representative from each class to comprise the executive body of the association. The departmental head governs the association as the Ex-office chairman. This association helps to conduct or organise various activities.
Celebration of special days:-Giving and receiving complements plays a very important role in maintaining healthy inter personal relations. Our department. gives a crucial importance to entertainment also. By arraigning short but sweet programmes such as, Independence day, Geography day, Population day, Environmental day, Makarsankrant, Republic day, Youth day, etc. Everybody showers well wishes and compliments to each other. Which help to create the student friendly environment in the department.
At the end of academic year farewell function was arranged by the SYBA students to give the best wishes to TYBA students. So many students shared their views and explained their experience about what they have achieved in the departmen.
